Captain Jake Easonsmith, and an unidentified trooper take a moment to filed strip and clean an M1928 Thompson. The desert had a habit of getting into every nook and cranny of weapons and men. A dirty weapon led to jams at the worst possible time. A dirty body led to desert sores, lice and other not so nice ailments. Easonsmith would go on to command the LRDG but was KIA during Operation Leopard on the Greek island of Leros.
